Big news: RGV Devs has a new home, and it's open right now at community.rgvdevs.net.
Since kicking things off with Cyber RGV, RGV Devs has run entirely on in-person sessions. We've had great conversations, live demos, and a lot of good energy, but they've been limited to whoever could make it into the room on a given night. That's changing. RGV Devs is pivoting to a primarily virtual model, and this new community site, built on Learnhouse, is the platform that will make this possible.
Community Resources and Discussions
Going forward, this is where the real activity happens: live virtual sessions, past session recordings, resources, and even the actual source code from every project built or reviewed at a meetup. If it's part of RGV Devs, it's on the community site. No more digging through old posts trying to find a link, no more missing a session because you couldn't be in McAllen that night.
Facebook and rgvdevs.net aren't going anywhere, and will remain as a front door for major announcements. You'll definitely continue to hear about what's coming there. But the actual community — the posts, the discussions, the watching, the building — lives at community.rgvdevs.net now.
Free, Open, and Built to Grow
The community platform is available to everyone, completely free. Join today and you can:
- Watch past session recordings and catch up on everything covered so far
- Download the source code from every project we've walked through
- Post questions, ideas, and what you're working on
- Join live virtual sessions as they happen
- Share it with anyone in the RGV who codes, wants to code, or is just curious about modern .NET
RGV Devs has always been about learning by doing and building something real together, not just talking about it. A virtual-first, always-available home makes that possible for a lot more people than a room in McAllen ever could. Whether it's students juggling class schedules or developers with unpredictable hours, anyone in the Valley who's wanted to plug into a local dev community but couldn't make an in-person meetup work now has a place to meet, gather, learn, and grow!
Help Us Build Something Worth Showing Up For
This is the foundation for everything RGV Devs does next. The more people who join, post, and show up, the more valuable this becomes for every developer in the RGV. So if you've been meaning to check us out, now's the time!
Join community.rgvdevs.net now and if you know someone else in the Valley who'd get something out of this, bring them with you!
