RGVDevs organizer Josh Morales took the stage at the Cyber RGV September meetup for our group to make the case for .NET Blazor, busting a few myths about .NET along the way. If you've ever felt the pain of maintaining a C# backend and a JavaScript frontend as two separate worlds that never quite speak the same language, Blazor is built to close that gap. Write your UI in C# and HTML, skip the JavaScript context switch, and ship that same codebase as a native app on Windows, Android, iOS, and more with .NET MAUI.
The session covered how Blazor's rendering model has matured with .NET 8 into a genuinely unified approach with four rendering modes (static server, interactive server, client-side WebAssembly, and interactive auto), all available in a single project, mixed and matched down to the individual component level. From there, the demos brought the proof: the same app running live on both Windows and Android from one codebase, and a real-time audience voting demo over WebSockets that lit up on every connected screen in the room at once!
Attendees walked away with a clearer picture of where Blazor stands today, what trade-offs come with each rendering mode, and just how far "one codebase, every platform" actually stretches in practice.
